Hi folks.

After a good few years off 2 wheels, I'm looking at a Tuono as my next bike. Probably looking at the end of the year by the time I've saved up the reddies though.

I had a Falco, briefly, about 6-7 years ago. Thought I'd try a Tuono, as there are not many Falco's around.

So I'm budgeting about £5k, which I'm hoping would get me a 2007-8 1000R, hopefully in immaculate condition. I'd rather buy older and in top condition, than newer and a less good.

Would that be a fair guess? Is that a good year to go for in this price bracket?

Any advice on what to look for in these models, apart from obv well looked after bike, serviced by Grif, etc, would be much appreciated.
As I say, it's a way off yet, but just planning for when I have the cash. No harm in dreaming eh.

Also, do all the Tuonos suffer from that trip reset issue? I only ask, cause I'll be keeping the bike in a lock up away from the house, with no power. So I'll have to take the battery off during winter to keep it charged up. If the mileageresets every time I do this, that could be a nuisance, maybe ill have to look at a another model if so.

Oh, and I'm 61.....,,I don't think that's too old to be getting a slightly bonkers bike is it?

Cheers
