Hi guys,
Been itching for a 1,000cc V-twin for quite some time now and finally picked one up the other day. I've loved the sound of the Dukes when watching the Superbikes on TV, and it always sends a shiver down my back when I hear one passing on the roads.
I looked at the TL's back in the day but with very little experience (at the time) and the bike being called a tank slapper / window maker I decided to stick with the inline 4's.
Having seen a few SP1's going cheap I decided 18 months ago I was going to get one, I wasn't disappointed after riding it one bit - It pulled hard at low revs and sounded the mutts nuts! But at just over 6'2" and 16st I was told by the bike shop that an RSV might be a better choice due to my size, and in their opinion the RSV is a better bike 'out of the crate' as you don't need to mess around with the settings.
I've owned many scramblers since I was 5 and a Honda XR8 Scooter, Suzuki GS500E, Kawasaki ZX-7R, Yamaha R6, Suzuki GSX-R 600 and now the latest edition ... an RSV Mille seen below:
It came with new renthal chain and sprocket, new front & back pirelli supercorsa tyres (done less than 100miles), Renegade twin high line exhausts which sound amazing! rear seat cowl, black double bubble screen, crash bobbins, mini indicators front & back, as well as all the original parts like exhaust etc :thumbup
I travelled 270miles to pick up the bike (5hrs there in the car and a 5hrs ride back in the rain and darkness).
Looking forward to some dry weekends so I can get it back on the road. My mate has just got himself a CBR600RR after passing his direct access 3 weeks ago and my father has a VFR800 Vtec so we should have some nice weekends riding through the Brecon beacons.
Not sure what upgrades I'll be doing yet, but HID headlight will be one with an exhaust heel guard.
