Hi All,
Black and Yellow Tuono V4 APRC with Akra slip on on order for pick up on the 1st of May and was just wondering if anyone has got any advice on any pitfalls or common problems to watch out for ?
Any and all help greatly appreciated as this is my first Naked and first Aprilia after coming from 10 years on sportsbikes.
Hope to have some good banter and meets with some fellow members as I see theres a few round this area will sort the profile and other bits when the bikes arrived in the meantime will have a trawl through previous posts to glean as much useful info as possible.

Welcome MMM, just do some reading on here and you'll get the just of the problems, seems they can be difficult to get into neutral.

Good luck and I'm sure you'll enjoy.

'Ow do MMM.
Where did you order the bike from?Wheels in Peterburglar?I bought my V2T there.
Some of the early bikes were recalled for a new demand sensor.I think its another name for the TPS.If you are buying secondhand,it might be worth checking if its one of the effected bikes. The only other issues I can think of is they can be a ******* to start when hot,...some coolant hoses have split, fogging headlights and the neutral problem that Aldo mentioned. Most of these seem to be isolated cases.

Hi MMM
I am sure you will really love the bike: handling is spot on & the engine is an absolute belter. I recently got a V4R and only issues I have noticed are
i) As previously listed - finding neutral can be a "challenge", :( if mine does not improve after I've put some more miles on her I''ll be taking her back to a Dealer.
ii) Clutch operation sometimes feels as if the cable is dragging / catching; I cant see where or why: not sure why hydraulics became unpopular ?
iii) I might consider putting a taller OEM or MRA screen on her - not decided yet.
Cheers

Thanks for the heads up guys, yes Keith B it's a new one from Wheels couldn't pass up on their deal but don't think I'll be using them for servicing though I use Les Kirby, M&Ms or BSD from what I've heard their aftersales and servicing is crap and their warranties a waste of time are Aprilia warranties any better ?
Nice to see some other members in this area maybe bump into you Fubar and KB somewhere around if I ever get out of this bloody truck.
You mention screens Fubar I've seen the puig one which looks like the one for me although I can see it might be not to everyone's taste LOL.
Anybody bothered with rad / oil cooler guards ?

Welcome mate, hope you enjoy the bike when you get it. weather may be a bit better then.
Advice - ride the buga and don't worry about the fuel comsumption. You'll love it.

I dont think the wheels lifetime warranty is worth the paper its printed on.As for the Aprilia warranty,...well good luck with that one too.Piaggio are notoriously difficult to deal with..As for servicing,I do most of it myself. The old twin is dead easy to work on.Mark Brewin at BSD is a good bloke,....dont know M&M,.....and Les Kirby,...bloody hell,is he still about?Seems like a million years ago we were drag racing across the lights in Stamford.

He sure is KB has had his own setup since boards street changed owners then closed.
Realised Windy Corners not too far from me aswell anybody use them and what they like ?

Hi mate I collected mine yesterday,, done 160 mikes on it today,, feels awesome, if a bit firm,, try not to analyse all the problems that some unfortunate folk have experienced, it's a bit more clunky and noisier than the jap in line 4s, but it's awesome. Enjoy.

Reading these posts gives me a dilemma now. I bought my V2T factory from wheels, I had an after sales issue with them, which they were reluctant to sort, until I reminded them what a powerful tool tintanet is, suddenly problem solved.
I am due a service in a few months, and thought, due to the warranty I should take it there, but not too sure now. It,s a 300 mile round trip, but if the warranty is shyte, what's the point,? I may as well chuck it in at Teasdales, or do it myself.

Take it to Aprilia Performance in Tamworth, at least it will be done right....

Finding a good service place is always a difficult one ain't it. For the boys down this neck of the woods I've heard that kick start motorcycles in port talbot are the ones to use for aprilia servicing and get a good write up. Saying that I was very happy griff tool the time last year to do a mobile service at gilos for both our bikes. Very pleased with the way it runs.
