Help... Raised Bar Kit For 2000 Mille

Just ordered a raised bar kit from 998cc and if it arrives on time with all the right bits, I'll be chuffed to bits. I know some lads have had problems getting the right bits so fingers crossed...

What I need to know is, will the electrical cables and throttle cables be long enough. The kit includes new extended clutch and brake lines but I've just thought about these others.

How much needs cutting from the fairing and do I need to cut owt from the screen. Is there a rubber strip available to trim this up after.

Whats the best way to cut the fairing etc. Dremmel or similar?

Any advice will be much appreciated lads cos the bikes near enough mint and i don't want to screw up where cutting is concerned.

I would get my self a second hand nose cone that way when you sell it put the good one back on and bikes mint again

The switchgear cables and choke/fast idle will be ok. However in my opinion the throttle cables are too tight and will cause problems in time. Both me and Dave have opted to get extended ones from Venhill, we have sent off the originals and they will make up new ones to suit. They hope to do this from all new parts but have said they may need bits from the originals if they cannot source equivilent bits. Tuono's have the same throttle cables as RSV's (same part numbers) but they route them behind the ignition switch instead of in front as on the RSV, this is not an option with the 998cc yoke.

Can't help with the fairing as I have done away with mine, fitting superduke headlight.acewell clocks.........

Good look with getting the correct bits, recieved my brake lines yesterday, thats all my bits, ordered 25th Oct.....
The lines are 'Hell' and extended mille ones, so the banjos at the bar end are all straight, this is fine for standard clippons but just not quite right for conventional bars, they would be better with 90deg ones. I'm going to get mine altered

You will need to get some longer throttle cables. I used some off a gen 2 tuono. You need to re-route the electrics, and the fast idle. It takes a bit of fiddling about. I think i routered mine on the opposite side to standard, so you will need to mess about with that to get it right. If you pm me your email, i will send you some pics of my fairing, were I trimmed it, and I made some spacers to raise the top slightly to give more wind resistance and a better lock without cutting too much off.

You may not have probs with the throttle cables[mines ok] i didnt get fitting instr with mine and figured out that the cables HAVE TO GO between the spacers that hold the ignition barrel higher , the fairing i am sorry to say needs a lot cutting off and you dont get any trim to sort it [are you reading this Frazzzzel cos u aint sent mine, bad lad] good luck as you seem quite optomistic about getting your kit quickly , i hope you do , any probs with kit give me a pm. i love my bike with this stuff on and as ive said before its like a mad moto on acid backache is a thing of the past . good luck Big Jessie

Thanks for the advice mate. Looking forward to the "no more backache".

Ive relocated the fuse and relay boxes to the tool roll space under the seat, not finished yet though, need some garage time.

Also tried several streetfighter headlights plus a couple from KTM, settled on the 990superduke 07onwards version
