hi guys,

I need the best brains on this one.

I have A bol d'or and I bought some OZ alloys. I went to get them painted but the paint shop cannot match the red and Aprilia do not have a code.

Anyone have a bol d'or or know where I can get this paint code?

Any help will be well appreciated.

Thanks

Saw it but not sure which is the colour code? JLP4 Also Is this there colour code or if I quote it to my shop will they know what it means?

most car bodyshops using Nexus (was ici) or standox brand paints will be able to mix m/c colours & will most likely have colour chips to compare against a sample, i'll have a look tomorrow & see if we have. also a paint supplier would have the colour chips if the paint manufacturer they use list m/c colours

Thanks mate. The guy I spoke to said it has to be water based.

the colour you chose from that paint list is a solid colour, i.e. it has no metalic/mica flakes in it & is a solvent based 2pack colour. If you chose a colour where the code has a B at the end then it would denote that the colour is a clear-over-base or a metalic colour & would be a water based material. If your colour is not a metalic then a solid colour solvent based paint would be the best option.

Just checked at work and that paint code is available from sikkens paint in waterbase paint so you would need it done in a bodyshop. Your alternative would be to have them refurbished by a specialist. Again a garage would be able to point you to the right people.

The Aprilia paint is supplied by Lechler but Aprilia give out no codes.

They very rarely use solid colours these days. They use tinted laquers an awful lot.

Hi,

Gone to my local paint shop with a panel and the closest I can get to it is RAL3024. It is like a luminous Red.

To be honest when I put the panel against the original wheel it does not match anyway. It is like Aprilia used two different colours on the Bol D'or. The wheel paint is darker whilst the panel paint is luminous.

You never know I might get a better match. Going to get the wheels primered in Black so hopefully this will give it a darker finish. Fingers crossed. Picking up Wheels on Tuesday fitting on bike later in the week so will post pics for your opinion.

Thanks
