anyone help, oil seal behind drive sprocket has started to leak , looks like wear and tear does anyone know if seal can be changed from front with transfer shaft in place or does the caseing have to come off , if i remove caseing does it all just fall apart , not too sure of what i am doing but if its only leavering one out and drifting one back on with a socket then great , but with my luck it will be a garage job:dunno

thanks ,your a gentleman , but with me being a bit dense , all i do is remove front sprocket then use thin screwdriver to lever seal out over the top of shaft then push new seal back on to shaft and drift back home on to seat , no oil draining or any other cr*p , your patience is apreciated .

I would imagine as you have oil leaking out currently that you will need to drain the oil or rig up some way of leaning the bike over to it's right hand side to keep the oil away from the area you are working on, just my humble opinion :thumbup

shouldn't need todrain anything. oil just comes out when it's running because it's under pressure. very little stays in the engine when it's off as it all goes back to the oil tank.

Try and grip the seal and pull it out. i have a little seal hook which looks like a dentitst tool. If you lever it be very careful not to damage the ally casing or the new seal will leak as well
