Really hard one to diagnose at distance but is it getting fuel?

If yes then you must have a compression or timing issue.

Assuming that is your spark plugs are sparking OK.

Any unusual engine noises and can you give us some idea of what happened? Did you buy it this way, suddenly started missing, gradual etc.....

yeah plugs are sparking and put 4 new plugs in to be sure it wasnt them im getting a compression tester off a mate tommorow to check that other than that its got me beat as for what happened was on a track day the bike had been running sound all day in the last session off the day i got on the power after a corner and it suddenly went onto one cylinder and its the rear that is still working

take the airbox lid off and look down the throttle body of the front cylinder whilst turning it over. Do you see any fuel being injected ?

hi mate yeah the fuel is being injected which is probly a bad thing wallet wise anyway :rant

If you have fuel and you have spark then your options are narrowing.

Compression test would be next on my list.

cheers for the help mate gonna take it to spr racing and let them have a look got too technical for me now
cheers everyone ill let you know wots up with it

hi lads cheers for the help ive had to give up and take it to spr racing in notts as it had a spark and it was injecting fuel. They ran a commpression test and the front cylinder would only produce 50psi compaired to 200psi from the rear they think the exhaust valve has bent but i left it with them to strip the head off and have a proper look looks like that is the end of my trackdays for this year haha cheers anyway lads ill let you know

Man thats a bugga, not good news. Compression of 50psi definately says something in the chamber is open..mechanics diagnosis could well be on the money with a bent valve...hopefully only the one. Good luck with getting it sorted soon matey.

phil!
please pass some information onto workshop thats doing the work, sometimes the reason why the valve has bent, which it sounds like it has, is because the cam lobes have twisted. Make sure they compare the profile of the same cam on the other cylinder before they rebuild the cylinder, there is a special tool in the genuine kit to check this profile if theyve got one???
let us know dude!
Griff

Man thats a mind bender...if that was the case and stays unknown, then its bound to repeat this deal. Nice piece of information Griff, cheers mate.
