Went out for a run on Sunday with a new Shoei helmet on and the suspension recently fettled,
What a difference, the old KBC lid was noisy and uncomfortable, and how I put up with it for so long god knows why.
The suspension was done by the guys at EBC racing (Quill Exhausts) and definately worth the forty quid.
Trouble is the helmet is that devoid of windnoise compared to the other, I wondered
what was causing the extra mechanical noise I was hearing till I realised it was just
the normal racket.

I've got an arai condor which fits great but doesn't have removable wahabke liner. Good lid but I'll be getting another next year with washable liner songood to hear your review about the shoei. What shoei is it. I used to have an agv ti tech before this one but the father in law dropped it on the floor and so therefore needed a new one as it got damaged.

It's a pity he didnt offer to buy the new helmet after damaging the old one.

I have a new XR1100 & its utter crap. The fit is lovely but the vents are made from meringue and break at any opportunity.

In the 12 months i,ve had it its had 4 new top vents & now the chin vent & a front one has broken

My XR1000 & X-Spirit were superb but the new one isnt. Sending it back to Shoei as we speak.

+1 for Shoei.

I love my X-Spirit, best helmet of all time (apart from the X-Spirit II, but can't afford one)

I bought my x-spirt to replace a damaged arai rx...far better imho...just bought another @ 1/2 price because the dealers were clearing out & making room for the newer x-spirit II....Also bought a full spare liner (won't be doing that again! @ £125!!!!)

I got a shoei xr1100 not long ago & althought the fit felt good in the shop anything above 90ish windblast started lifting the helmet.

I went up to Padgetts in Batley to get an Arai which I'd previously owned & the girl was extremely helpful. She explained that as I have a typically narrow melon shaped head standard Shoei are not the best fit around the jaw. She said I have an Arai shaped head & she recomended replacing the cheek pads with some 42mm ones which are now on order. In the meantime I cut out a circular piece of compressed foam and inserted it into the crown of my helmet which has pulled up the helmet & cheekpads into a snug fit although the ventilation is fecked the fit is much better & the helmet no longer lifts.

Loved my XR1000, comfy, quiet, stable when riding. Saved my head and its internals in a spill so now needs replacing. Will buy another one for definite.!

I got a HJC R-PHA10 about a month ago and it is very comfortable and light only 1200gms. Its a bit noisy with the vents open but the air flow is great and keeps my head cool.

Had Shoeis in the past and always got on well with them. Currently got an AGV GP Tech and a Shark RSI (and a cheapy HJC for knocking round town and sitting on) and love both of them.

Luckily my head seems to suit pretty much all brands of helmet. Only exception is Arais, the chinpieces are a tad too close for my aerodynamic nose.

I tried on one of these today, and it felt goooood !! I got a HJC at the moment, FG-15. Great lid, I really rate the HJC's.That R-PHA10 is a bit pricey for me at the moment now tho :eek:mg And it could do with a better fookin name too !

Hello I'm new to the forum I too have a shoei xr1000 and yes it's the best lid I've owned so far I had a arai condor before but it was starting to hurt my right ear but since having the shoei no such problems and boy is it quiet or wot...:wow

Yes mate since having my Arai I've noticed how close the chinpice is to my chin compared to my AGV. Fook me if your nose is hitting the chinpiece it must be well hooked at the end. I'll have to have a closer look next time Gonzo.

I recently bought a carbon fibre Nitro.
I think the lighness has reduced the neck ache I used to get with GRP.

I was going to mention it before, however I think grip is against the bone not the double/tripple chin otherwisei'd be fine

Lol gilo. I've been dieting for years. Can't u tell.

One thing ive noticed with my arai is the chin(s) strap seems to be located further back than on the agv and really catches on my Adams apple to the point of being uncomfortable if done up a little tight. Maybe the depth of it has something to do with that. It's something I didn't notice when I bought it but wouldbe something I'd lookout for next time and might put me off owning another arai.

Your own fault for being so manly & having such a large Adams apple. I do notice withy mine that my chin & Nose both make contact when the hammer is fully pinned.
