Hello, I am new to the Aprilia world, but I have been building bikes for some time now!
1. I am looking at a 2002 Yellow RSV Millie R right now, but I noticed that the bike tail section and wheels are not original?
2. What are the R model additions on a 2002 R, Ohlins suspension front & rear, brembo brakes front & rear, Carbon Fiber parts located where on the bike, ex…………………”please inform me on the correct R model Mods for this year 2002”
3. What are the best web sites to purchase aftermarket parts for a 2002 Millie?
4. Who is the best tuner, and engine builder in the U.S.A.
5. Who sells the best CF parts like, air-box, tail section ex……..?

this is the bike i'm looking at right now, What do you guys think it's a real "R"

I doubt it by the looks of it.

The paint scheme is wrong/ not standard and the wheels are wrong.

A true R would have an ohlins rear shock and ohlins steering damper. It should also have a monopost tail, i.e. no pillion seat so check the sub frame.

I'd guess its a standard RSV mille and had a bad accident so the owner needed new forks anyway and got some 2nd hand ohlins, resprayed the front end and fairings and then bought a bellypan and tail fairing off a more common black model and then touched them up, hence the colour differences.

Less likely but possible if it does have all of the ohlins gear etc mentioned above then i'd say it has either been in an accident in which the rear wheel and tail were badly damaged and the main fairings scuffed up a bit. He replaced the wheels with cheaper standard RSV wheels and sold the oz front, then reprayed the front and replaced the tail fairing with a more common black one.

Either way i'd definatly be checking those forks were straight and there was no frame damage or crumples. Theres lots of bargining power there and as long as the frame is straight it may be a bargin.

Oh and check out this for a nice pretty standard paint 01/02 yellow RSVR http://www.rsvzone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94

Never seen an RSV with those colours before, like r896neo says it's a mix n match set.

If it looks clean you could always buy it and convert it back to original.

If you search this site you'll find the answer to all your questions and some.

At a guess I would say this was anywhere between a 2001 and 2003 model.

yes, looking like Mille .. not R to me...fair chance as said above..it has been rebuilt with what could be found about.
