Hey all! I'm the proud owner of a 2005 Tuono R. I simply luv the thing! It does everything and brings a smile to my face every time I twist the throttle. I've owned it for about 3 yrs & also have an old '98 yamaha R1, plus an old steel framed CBR 600 which I shared with my brother for trackdays.....tho I have an annoying habit of falling off the thing! I'm new to this Forum business but I'm glad I've found somewhere I can share & pick up info. Already picked up useful points re. Poor starting. The big lady has a habit of either starting brilliantly. ....or not at all...something I hope to get 'rectified' soon!! But I really need some info about hard luggage racks/panniers/ fitting kits. I'm planning a European trip next year. Done 1 years ago on the R1 and wrestled with soft luggage the entire time. Really was a hassle at times! Does anyone out there know of any Hard luggage/ kits that fit my bike?? I've browsed various sites & seen some great kit.....but none seems to fit. Really frustrating. Any ideas guys?? Would really appreciate ur help

Don't be a stranger mucker, get some pics of yer machine up and good luck wae next years trip. :thumbup

I've used Ventura for years and it's excellent kit ( still got a set for 06-on Tuono if anyone in the market for one ).
The downside is that if you change bikes regularly it is very expensive as you need new "L" brackets every time and most times a new rack.
The money you spend on these two items would buy you a good Kriega setup which can be changed from bike to bike.
So basically if you are going to keep the bike a few years go Ventura but if you're going to be on something else within a couple of years I would go with the Kriega.

Good point my friend. I'd been toying with buying L brackets to suit the R1, hoping to use tge rack & luggage on it. I was surprised how dear those alone cost! Think I'll give that other stuff a looksie too. I tend to keep my bikes so don't mind spending money on good kit that'll last. Cheers

Buddy I reckon the Ventura kit is the way to go, all things considered. My bike is Dec '05. Reckon ur '06 kit wud fit? I'm not au fait with model changes. I'd be interested in buying ur gear. Are u selling the L brackets & rack and bags seperately? My email is [email protected] if u wanna send a few pics?? Thanks again for the advice.

Ahv used the Ventura stuff for a while and many trips and it is good ...great in that ye just whip the rack off very easily an leave the L bars permanently on. Another good thing is the racks reversible so ye can keep the bag inboard keeping the weight mair central. Watch which bag ye chose tho, some models have absolute ***** pockets configurations as the zips set awkwardly so a struggle tae get stuff in and out..... and while its very robust certainly isnt 100% waterproof. Use the auld traditional bin bag liner method.

Ahv been using the big bag along wi a pair o Oxford soft panniers which works really well if ye sit them on top o the rack then fit the bag. Keeps the panniers nice and high and away from the zorsts heat.
