Hello brothers and sisters. I'm fresh meat and i'm searchin the site for answers about my low rev (camchain i think??) rattle but am struggling due to A-being computer illiterate and B- being totally lazy. I've got an 04 plate minter but have an unnerving rattle from top left of motor at about 3500-5000 revs in 2-3 gear. Is it the cam chain tensioner? Sorry for sounding wooden but trawling through all the info hurts the head. What a way to start a relationship!:bawling

Hi gollum. Had my Gen 1 for over a year now and I get a rattle now and again at about the same revs but not all the time. Be interesting to see what answers u get. Doesn't really bother me that much.

No idea what the prob is Gollum... I've a Gen II. Her name is Andiamo. She says hello.

btw, bay..... Just WTF IS a 53 plate. I believe it has something to do with insurance, but other than that... Ah've nae idea. We don't have tax plates etc here in the Colonies. So... just being curious.

Its the year on the reg plate (number plate) - nowt to do with tax. Mine is an 03 - March 2003. A 53 is a September 2003 etc.

Two letters (identifying region), year identifier & 3 random letters. E.g AB03 ABC.

Mine have all made different noises every time I get on it. In fact it seems like a different bike every time I get on it. That's what I like about em ;-]

Yes nob funny thing with the noise I'm talking about on mine it doesn't happen under normal acceleration or hard acceleration just that point in the middle and at exactly the same point in the rev range. I just put it down to it's coming up to the 12k service and it'll prob get sorted by griff when I take it up there

Might be ready to blow up, I'll give you a grand for it. And I'm robbing mesel :thumbup

I'm getting one. Been offered an 04 mint 6500 miles 1 owner fsh etc, I've seen it, £2750.
