Height Adjustment from running 190/55 tire

Does anyone running a 190/55 think lowering the bike a few mms would be beneficial in comfort? Sometimes I go on 2hour rides or longer and my back is killing me after. Maybe I'm just being a baby but I figured getting an adjustable link would level out to where it was originally. Just a thought.

Any feedback is appreciated.
 
Raise the headstock through the forks by 9 mm to even it out if there is enough play

They say raising or lowering the back on the spring [preload] makes no difference to the handling but I beg to differ

Ive done this a few times and changed the feel of the bike completely

Im assuming you used 190/50 before and that means the 190/55 will be 9mm higher at the back

Also the profile of the tyre can make a difefence in height as all tyres are not equal

A 180 bridgestone was 10mmm wider than a 180 metzeler on the same bike as it would not fit in the same rack by 100mm although they were both meant to be 180's
 
I'm running 190/55 & never noticed any difference to the 180 as far as pain goes! after 2 hours non stop what do you expect, after an hour & half my back, wrists, hips & just about everything else hurts.
 
I have a 190/55 and its only 5mm or so higher than the 180/55 I had before....not enough to notice any extra discomfort? Does the rear shock not have an adjuster (for length/ride height)? I know the Ohlins has as mine was way too high when I got the bike. The preload is different as it is just as it says a way of preloading the spring rather than a proper height adjuster. Does anyone know the exact ratio of shock length to ride height?
 
I did have a 190/50 Bridgestone and now I have a 190/55 Mich Pilot Power 2ct. So I should raise the triple tree on the forks instead of an adjustable linkage? I don't know if the rear showa shock has a height adjustment. Does it anyone?
