Guy's I need your help.

Took lide off the ECU tonight to check the eprom, it has a little sticker with the letters A63 on it ..................any clues ?

More worringly when I removed the right side panel there was a little round connector with 2 green & white wires going into it , its a female connector.
Next to it is a matching male connector with a blue & green wire going into it.
They look like the should be connected...should they ??

Cool thanks for that ...there are a couple of chips being advertised on ebay and was thinking of getting one of them but needed to make sure I had a "standard" chip in 1st.
And thanks for the lowdown on those connectors...just as well I didnt connect them together !!!

As a matter of interest I read somewhere that the standard chip has two maps ?, is this true and if so how do you get to it ?

There is a 2nd map and you have to cut or disconnect certain wires but i couldn't say which! Speak to spoonz, he'll sort you out!

Spookily enough I took the right hand side panel thingy off mine today and saw those 2 connectors that 'looked' like they should be joined together.

Seeing as the bikes just fine I left them as they were - now I know what they are as well now :thumbup

Check out this link - Click me

I have some guides for things like this that are very good, will see if I can upload them to the file vault.

Don't bother replacing the chip especially "ebay" chips as the standard chip is perfectly fine. If you must replace the chip then the Gabro chips are highly rated

Get a second hand power commander and a custom map done by a reputable dyno centre.

legs is the man!!!

dont bother with the chips go for the PC3, ive seen some chips do more harm than good,
hope this helps!
Griff

Right well I have put in a shiny new DNA airfilter (checking there are no restrictions), left the chip alone but cut the blue/green wire, bolted the shotguns back on .............and thats as far as I got as my clutch hand got injured yesterday morning :-(
My local dyno man will do me a PCIII (?), setup and full dyno for £300 :)

So its raid the kids piggy bank time , sell the wife whateva :)
