Headlight mounting/duct

Hi all hope everyone is enjoying the sun

Cant believe it after over 30 years of riding and probably putting bikes on paddock stands thousands of times she fell over as I was putting her on the stand at the weekend. Luckily no side damage whatsoever but the front fell on a metal chair and has cracked the front fairing (well that can wait) but it has also cracked what aprilia call the duct part no ap8179146. So in essence the whole light unit etc is now slightly to one side and not mounted properly. Anyone know the best place for parts or of course one breaking. Local dealer has quoted Â£137 + vat which I will order in the next few days if I cant find a cheaper option, just seems like a lot of money for a bit of plastic, oh and as for the fairing 300 quid!! must be an aftermarket option cheaper

i had a pheasant head but the front of my alfa romeo at about 90 mph once. its head and part of its innards got wedged between the nearside headlight and the bumper .
the upshot of this is that a lug broke off the headlamp Â£ 200. for a replacement !! so i epoxy resin repaired the lug onto the headlamp and put a small bent to shape metal plate over the repair to reinforce it , once it was painted satin black it just dissapeard . is it possible you could do a similar thing as a temp solution ???

or you could consult a plastic welding specialist !! best of luck .

Cheers guys, prob is repairable just didnt want to strip it all apart and find it wasnt and have it in bits for days. Need 2 tyres as well so may just have to spend some money!

I wish I would've seen this earlier but I had just ordered one of those from aprilia superstore, I'd recommend them or af1 racing but they're a little more expensive. It was only $56 so that must be around Â£40. I had originally tried to repair it but it ended up breaking later and eventually had to buy a new one, well worth the money though. And besides it gives you time to work on your bike. It does take a little bit to get everything off and then back on. Not bad though.
