Here's a general question for the populous on here. Just to get this out of the way, I did research this topic (like I always do) and came up short handed.

I've heard from a few people that the stock headers that come on the Mille's (mine is a 2007 RSV1000R Mille) breath very well and that there's really not too much difference between the stock headers as opposed to aftermarket headers (arrow, akrapovics, leovince etc.). Have you guys had any experience with this? I generally don't like to skim on parts and I generally buy full exhuast systems (then again I've also only owned inline 4 japs). My curiosity is wondering if it would really be worth the extra coin it would take to get the full system as opposed to the slip on alone?

Also, what are the relative power numbers I could hope to see from a slip on as opposed to a full system? I can go by manufacturers ratings, but I tend to think those are a bit biased. :dunno

I have a full sytem and the headers looker nealy the same but stainless and ti. The only real difference is the link pipe that go into the cans is larger. The system above mine which is £2000 I have been told isn't very good accept for when the bikes is tuned. I would say if your racing or doing loads of track days get one, but for the road a pair of slip ons will do you fine.

if its a road biased bike then I would have to agree with hs5, although I would have thought the header tube diametre sould be slight;y bigger (but maybe not as hs5 has said :dunno ).

I think for the minimal gain you get from a system alone the cost is not really justifiable, you would need to start tuning the motor, air intake, electrics etc and for a road bike (if thats what it is as said above) I would be inclined ot to, it is however lighter than stock.

The £2000 system has bigger diameter headers but the stainless for what I can see looks the same. This is the akrapovic I am on about, not to sure about others- arrow etc.

Heres Badgers opinion of his.
I just luv my Smaltmoto full system, you won't find better for quality and performance, in Titanium with ceramic coated headers and 60mm bore all the way through, these things rock:inlove
