hi all. im in the middle of my summer overhaul of my winter hack, an f reg yamaha xt350. ive removed the exhaust complete to clean it up and spray in exhaust paint to try and preserve it a bit longer. ive found on the headers just behind the clamp a small hole approx 3mm wide. new headers are well over a hundred quid, good used ones seem to be non existent. i am no master welder but do have a mig welder at work, my concern is that as this is a fairly thin part of the exhaust, i dont want to blow straight through by attempting to mig weld it. i may be able to get it brazed but this could be sometime away and i need a quicker fix for mot ideally. i have heard of liquid metal products i could try. has anyone ever used these? are they any good and will it last at all? cheers guys.

Put a piece of copper bar under the hole & spot weld with the Mig , Exhaust shops being doing this for decades .. If the pipe is to thin / rusty then even trying to weld a new bit onto it is going to be even hard than spot welding it ... Find a exhaust shop to look at it may not be that dear to sort .
