Was there any change between the 99-00.5 models and the 00.5-03 models which mean the headers/collector pipes can't be retro fitted from the later to the earlier models? :dunno

Any help much appreciated gents :thumbup

yes, the 98-03's are pretty much interchangeable apart from the tank, underseat panels, rear light cluster and a few small details.
The headers are the same methinks.
cheers Ck
PS-why-do ya need some headers?

Thanks for that CK, you are a star sir :thumbup I was looking at a couple of options. One getting an MHP update to the collector pipe, or I have been offered the twin Akrapovic set up and chip from an Edwards rep. Another quicky. Was the Akrapovic set up supplied on the Edwards rep a full system i.e Akrapovic designed and made headers?

cat mate, I think it was just the cans and linky pipes. tho I'm not certain
cheers CK
PS-
you could get the twin akras, great torque, personally on the earlier models I prefer the single can system, even Akras single slip on race can has a bigger outlet than the twin akras(tiny).
My evo akra full Ti system has a 65mm bore which is nice and large ..and loud. The tigs go out to 80 mm methinks and they ARE loud.
Ypu cant go wrong with akra or arrow IMO

Thanks for the info CK. Next question. you've got the Edwards chip, so did you put it straight into your existing ecu or did you use the complete Edwards ecu? I was wondering if the ecu's can be retro fitted as I seem to recall reading somewhere that the later ecu's had a different processing speed :dunno

Anyone here tried the MHP header/collector modification? :dowhat

nah matey, I just swapped the chips over. My dyno dave said it was a great chip. It gave me a further 3bhp and 2ft-lbs torque in conjunction with the CER 57mm TB's, that was after the evo box and full akra for which I had already had a C map done for.
ou could look on Ducati-kamna.de, they sell 'open' chips(yeehaaw)
cheers
CK
PS-whats the mod yer talking about?

Anyone know if the complete ecu can be retro fitted?

The MHP mod is this one shown below CK. Basically it is an additional two pipes onto the standard headers to alter the way in which the exhaust gas exits and the back pressure. The claim is a prominent increase in the torque range and bhp. It comes in two specs, one road, one race. Apparently it was developed for the MRO challenge to enable single exhaust exit bikes to match the 2 into 2 Akrapovic set up.

From some more digging around, apparently the 2 into 2 on the Edwards rep isn't just link pipes and cans. The headers were also designed by Akrapovic in conjunction with Aprilia Racing. Is it the same 2 into 2 that you can get from AF1 I wonder? :dunno

Still trying to find out the details of the chip that came with the bike at the moment CK. Any clues?
