headbearing set up

hi all well i have finally purchased a set of taper head bearings .when i had the gsxr i luckily had a guy at work who spent time working for ten kate and got him to check and adjust the headbearings is thaere a set way to set them or is it a case of tighten so no play but steering still flops :dunno
 
Tryed taper beaing in my 03 RSVR & ended up taking them back out as both the Ohlins dealer that put them in & myself could get the things to set correctly either to loose or to tight . Brought the orgingal ball bearing OEM Aprilia ones put them in set them done 15,000 ks now & untouched . Bike had done 30,000k when I changed the OEM ball bearing type so the new set will see me through for awhile longer
