Hi, I've just bought a 2001 Mille and the previous owner has only been out on it maybe 5 times in the last year. So it's been sat in the garage. What should I look do to get it running well again ie change oil, plugs, lube cables etc is there anything in particular with this model I should be looking for?

Hi mate, in my experience of two Milles there's not a great deal goes wrong with them. If it was running ok before then chances are it'll be good now. Oil change never hurts, make sure the tyres brakes and chain are all good and all your fluids are at the right levels, then get it out and just see how it is.
That's what I'd do, I find a lot people are a bit scary when it comes to laying bikes up - my track bike sat for 10 months on its paddock stands and then quick oil change, top up the tank and caned around Cadwell for a couple of hours with no issues at all.

Hi and welcome as Mumbojombo say's check all the essentials make sure battery fully charge and off you go. HAPPY DAYS

It would not hurt to check the rear suspension linkage for wear and grease in the bearings - they have been known to seize if neglected

Thanks for the tips guys. Nightmare picking it up, left the chap I bought it from and within about 3 miles it's stopped, no fuel! Should have checked but you'd at least think there would be a few miles in it to get to a petrol station. Managed to get some fuel to get me to a petrol station. Started filling it up, fuel pissing all over the forecourt turns out the breather hose in the tank has split and it think it's over filled so was emptying it. Had to get it towed to a local garage, getting fixed now. So in all I've ridden it for about 3 minutes. Asked garage to service it though and make sure there is nothing else underlying.
