hard on down shifting

would having the oil level in half way cause down shifting problems. I don't have problem with shifting up however sometimes it gets a way too hard to down shift with the clutch. I have to push hard and it feels like I'm not using the clutch at all... What could be causing this?
thanks:exclamation

Try bleeding the clutch buddy. Up shifts don't require the clutch (when driving hard up through the box) but is ALWAYS needed coming down, that's why you're feeling such a difference in the down changes. A good bleed through should hopefully sort it.

Please take note that you may not actually have an issue with the gearbox shifting.

Going up the gears is always easier than coming down and as quite correctly pointed out by Andi, upshifts can be done clutchless.

You should not have to put anything more than light pressure on the gear lever with the clutch fully operated, if you do then you may have an issue with the clutch or maybe gearbox.

First step is to make sure your clutch lever settings are allowing you to obtain a full stroke on the master cylinder, if that doesn't work then bleed the clutch circuit.

If that doesn't get rid of your problem it may be time to have a look at the clutch operating mechanism.

Let us know how you get on or if you need any more help. :thumbup

okay so I put another extension on my rod(I know it sounds embarrassing) lol and it seemed to work great! I started hearing the beautiful "Toc" noise when I down shifted until some **** happened and the freaking clutch started getting spongy so I squeezed it like 10 times it was already i rode it again and it became worse I mean I started squeezing it up to 50 to use it . I was like WTF? I had to remove the master cylinder at a local Church's parking lot after popping a wheelie on the first from neutral without clutch. lol you should have seen peoples faces. So the clutch was firm after squeezing it a lot and changing the setting on it it just wouldn't work!! Anyway so when I push the piston I see bubbles coming out of the top reservoir and then it pops back and I push again and unlimited bubbles come out there is not way that could have had that much bubbles after doing that for 5 minutes!!! So I think it could be the seal gone bad along with the seal on the clutch lever.. Oh crap.
