My wife lost my spare key. Went to go out for a ride the other day and couldnt find my main key. Found out that the wife had decided to do a tidy and put it in one of those safe places that only a womens mind could think of. Finally found the one and only key in her sock draw so decided it was time to get a new spare. Got the new spare key and have had it cut. How do I go about coding the key so it starts my RSVR 2005?

simple, take out the chip and glue it underneath the lock. or better yet take the whole key and secure it under the dashboard. make another two simple copies and voila! you are finished with the chip ordeal! and please, for the love of god don't tell me the damn chip is actually helping the bike not to get stolen!

Most places , preferably independant, that cut car keys will have a machine that reads a chip, and can write it to the new one. pretty much every machine can do the job. places may be akward as they didnt supply the blank, or do the cutting, but providing your paying.. probably 10-20 quid, they may agree to press the 6 buttons needed and the 1 minute it will take.

where did you get a blank key from ?? I'm struggling

cheers for the help guys.

Skullface, got the blank from my local aprilia dealer in chatham, kent. Just tell them the chassis number or make and they will get the key for you. It only took a day for them to get it. Their number is 01634 811757 and ask for Mark in parts department.
