just been on a test ride on a gsxr 600 and it feels like it would destroy my 06 mille which shocked me but wow what a ride... seem to be much smoother and this actually wheelied without the clutch being dumped which is dissapointing as my old mille did this on power alone ... wish i had stuck with that shape may have to swap to the japs unless i can get a mint old shape again> as anybody been on the gorgeous gsxr 1000 as that must be off the wall:devious

Wooha There matey...a GSXR600 'destroying' a Mille....what meds are you on...my old R6 used to take the piss out of GSXR600's (mine was a '99 and I put the fear of God into many newer model riders...05,06,07) and my '03 RSVR would eat that R6 for dinner. Is it the Jap 'smooth' thing you're on about rather than the overall ride...as I find the RSVR really deceptive...it does things in big 'dollops', like it jumps along the road in big leaps which is not a trait of Jap bikes.....Sorry man, don't want to be dismissive of your post but from my perspective the Aprilia is a fantastic all round bike...yep a GSXR1000/R1 etc.. would beat it in a straight line, but in the twisties it would be VERY close!!!

the gixxer 600 is a top notch bike, there's not doubt about it. better than a mille? i dunno about that :O

what year mille you got don?

i'd find it tough to compare the two bike, 600cc vs 1000cc, v-twin vs I4, -8lbs wet vs. 500lbs wet, etc.

the new 600's make a boat load of power though...albeit mostly up top, i'm surprised you couldn't wheelie your mille though. :confused

-:banana

ps. welcome to the site :cheers

i find crash that the new mille is just not as exciting to ride as the old one i have a 06 model and to be honest am thinking of changing to the gsxr or getting the old shape :confused

Fair play to you mate...it really is what makes that biking bell ring for all of us...whatever does it for you is what you need to chase...hope it all works out:thumbup

:stupid "exciting" is a personal preference, find what makes you grin and ride the piss out of it. :thumbup Now say...if you'd like i'd be more than happy to take that '06 off your hands ;)

I beat RSVRs on the track every time I race my 2001 CBR600. Its pushing 120bhp and even when I raced the RSVR my lap times were faster on the 600. I do fancy a brand spanker 600 for racing in 2008

So is your 06 Mille bog standard or have you had any mods like race cans??, Map 2?? Evo airbox?? gearing?? etc etc????

Surely the torque on the mille is hell of a lot more than the 600??:confused so you can hold a gear longer on the mille rather than constantly buzzing up and down the gearbox keeping the revs up at 16K??

:stupid :drool :drool :drool can't wait to get mine :doug

Mate I can wheelie both the old and the new mille's as easily as each other 2 of my mates have just bought 600's kawasaki and honda and had a go on both and there damn good bikes but change from a mille to one of them NO WAY.......................................

Hey whatever floats your boat. :huh

People seem to be 4 cylinder lovers or twin lovers, completly different experience and both great in their own way.

But if you got to choose V twin every time for me, :thumbup much quicker and easier in real life riding rather than having to rev the nuts off it to go anywhere. Make sure you have a good think about it before going for a 4 would you get bored with having to scream everywhere and work that hard :dunno:dunno Great on the track but on the road. Not so sure

Whatever you have make sure you ride the nits off it. :devious
