Hi folks I'm thinking of selling my gsxr 1000 k7 Streetfighter to buy a tuono rsv4, my bike has 174bhp @ the wheel, I'm worried the tuono will not live up to my gsxr,, anyone from here came from the same situation.

I had a suzuki k7 as well des. I didn't like it to be fair but had it standard no as a street fighter. I can't say that even riding my gen 1 at 120bhp is a noticeable difference unless you unleash the full 174 in a track. I love my aprilia and would never go back to a k7 even though my racing is 4 years older I find it a much nicer bike all around than the suzuki. Saying that I've not ridden the v4 as I don't think I need any more power than I have already. Your choice I guess

I had a Blade and an 1198 before getting my V4R, and to me the Tuono feels bonkers enough in terms of power :thumbup
It might not have as much absolute BHP as your Gixxer, but I am pretty sure you would not be disappointed as the V4 engine is a peach (apart from a bloody annoying and known fault with finding neutral) and sounds epic.
I would have a test ride mate: dealers (around here anyway) are falling over themselves at minute to flog em !

I test road an rsv4 T and it was brilliant.
No shortage of power mate , i had a 05 zx10r at the time and it felt no slower.
if you think it may be a bit short on power you must have some epic riding skills.
as fubar said take one out for a blast .
i think you will be pleasantly suprised Wheelie tastic if you want it to be and arm wrenching fast.

I think bhp figures mean buga all. Its down to how a bike rides and puts it power down when out on the road. TBH when can you unleash 174?
A few yrs ago I had a 636, 2 mates had zx10's, I was never left behind and at times showed them a clean exhaust.

Grin factor, your right about that for sure mate,, just makes it easier for pulling 3rd gear wheelies.
Trust me guys it gets used, I'm not saying I'm the fastest guy out there, far from it, but I like to have a bike with good power as that's what I'm used to, plus don't want to get left trailing on some of the straights when I do track days with my mates.
hi pal. ive just px my gsxr 750 10 plate for a more comfier ride. ( my wrists are stuffed through work and sports bikes ) got an. 08 plate tuono r. ( profile pic ). i fukin love . its looks the dogs from all angles. .havent had it flat out yet, its way powerful enough, sounds mental. saving up know for a new one next year.
Well looks like my gsxr Streetfighter is getting sold,, almost time to order my new rsv4 t.
