Sorry guys need to vent some anger... got talking to a guy in the pub last night when i turned up on the ape.. when he saw it he goes "great bikes' especially with that TL lump, i had a TL once" ..Eh?! so i kindly stated "no your getting mixed up with the rs250, that had a suzuki rgv lump, these have a Rotax engine" after his assuring me i was mistaken i firmly said "the TL has a wet sump 90 degree v twin, this is a dry sump 60 degree" still the prick maintained his idiotic assumption even saying "whats the matter, ashamed of having a jap engine in your italian?" i was ready to punch the :jack by now. I just said "look you obviously dont have a clue, the TL lump is great and i wouldnt mind one in my bike at all, im just stating a fact which i will prove to you" he still wouldnt have it. Time to print out some web info and slam it in his face (promptly followed by a fist if he so much as questions it!) I wouldnt mind if twas just a little banter, but this knob actually believed his ridiculous concept.

:jack tool - that sounds frustrating! arent there 60degree stickers somewhere on the bike?!

I dont get stressed with people like that, i let them believe what they want to believe, i hav'nt got time in me life to argue a point with wasters that clearly know jack ****.

He's probably got mixed up with the Bimoto - they have a TL lump in one of thier incarnations (the one that Anthony Gobert raced in WSBK).

Deacs :thumbup

Yeh the bimota did use the TL lump but apes have always been rotax. Blokes clearly suffering from some kind of paranoid dillusion. My 07 bike has an
R V60* sticker just below the nose cone on the side fairings. Show him that if he doesn't believe you. Then he'll probably say that its been stuck on by someone else and is not factory fitted.

heres a pic of the sticker. I believe quite a few of the apes have a similar sticker advertising the fact they are 60 degree V twins. This is what makes them unique as most twins are 90degree.

stick one on him and then give him the print out:jack

sounds like a plan :thumbup nah i know what you mean little1 im the same it takes a lot to wind me up but this did. I do have some consolation in that when he discovers he's wrong he'll feel like a complete pee-narse :biggrin i wonder what 'twould be like with a tlr lump though... had a go on one once, absolute belter of an engine, felt like it had the torque to pull a house down. My pals battle-scarred 916 riding uncle was selling it. He said "all my bikes have character lines, every scratch tells a tale, im selling the tl as its too tidy to mark" crazy dude, looks like someone from the mad max bikers, but (often too!) wild on his duke :biggrin

bothered!

Who cares what he thinks. If he doesn't know anything about bikes he's obviously a cocksponge anyway.

I had the same problem with a guy here.............in the end I told him bollox and let him ride off on his 1980s TL lol

Sorry mate, that was me. I'm new to this game!

bless him...

he meant a CAGIVA RAPTOR,,,these had the TL lump

yeah odds on thats what the **** was on about. Funnily enough, the Raptor is an excellent bike IMO, handles good too. Sort of poor man's Bimota but more reliable and a lot cheaper, he could have got mixed up with that as someones pointed out but they were even rarer than the Raptors.

And the Bimota looked just like this in fact. I'd have another tomorrow :inlove

Apart from the Antera wheels being made of cheese and buckling, the electrics shutting on and off in the rain, the bike not starting, blowing the rivets out of the end caps on the Arrows made pipes..............italian flair all the way :D

Or the Laverda with the Rotax engine in it ;)

SFC1000?

Don't know if any were made?
