Hi
I thought my KTM 990 Adventure was good but just part ex'd it for a new 2008 Tuono R and still grinning / dribbling etc - just love it. This is also a great site with loads of useful info / contacts

Quick question on fitting Akrapovic end cans - can I do this then ride to dealer (approx 15mls away) for engine map change or does it need to be done as soon as you fit them ?

Cheers, Happypants

Welcome to the site :cheers. No problem fitting cans first mate...one 15 mile trip won't do any harm!, you'll be REALLY grinning/dribbling when you get those cans sorted! :drool

I have carbon cans on and they look and sound ace. BUT I was behind a T with Akras on at the weekend and their really is nothing better. I am saving, robbing, swindling, anything to get some quick.
What I have noticed about cans is that the length of them is important. I think mine are 450mm, a bit shorter than most and it gives them a raspy sound rather than the boom we love.
Not sure what length the Akras are but they are deffinately longer than mine as are the Arrow and Leo's etc.

welcome happy, my bewoulfs are 380 long an sound the bollocks, i put ma cans on and hoped that the last owner changed the maps, but ive run for about 2k with no probs,,,so assumin he did, watch this, next ride itll go bang lol

Welcome to the silliness. I have opted to stick with the stock cans as the po po here have really targeted bikes with loud cans. I may core them as a mate of mine has done thusly on his and his pipes have a deep throaty boom. The constabulary have rousted him and he has escaped sans ticket as they are the "stock" pipes. The sound was the real clincher for me, as they sound toadily kickass!

welcome young happypants . ive got akras on my 07 T. put them on and got the map changed right away . left the baffles in . getting to old for all this noise.... LOL

stick em on, go to dealer, laugh.:thumbup

Says it all.:thumbup

Welcome to the Zone Happypants.

No probs running map 1 to the dealer. Your T might run a little 'fluffy' but it won't do any harm.

Dave

PS: I just loooove the note of my Akras. Just thought I'd mention it.......
