Well eventually managed to do a deal with my Hayabusa for a Tuono, Its 05 plate with less than 7,000 miles.
The bike was in Cumbria which is about 150 miles away, so I thought this won't take long, the exact location was near a place called Workington! Yes, I heard in the news that there was a bit of a flood nearby, but really didn't realise what I had let myself in for!!!
I left my house in Chester at about mid day and finally arrived at about 5.00pm after having to take numerous detours along the way all in the pissin rain :lol I left Workington at around 6.00pm having done the deal and felt really at home on the Tuono within a few miles. Got on the M6 and the rain and wind continued, down to 30mph in places, really torrential and blowing me all over the road. Stopped for petrol at a rain/windswept Tebay services, cold and water had now penetrated through my waterproof gloves, all in one, socks etc, anway got back on the bike and......click...click....battery dead! Tried to jump it but could not get the traction, eventually got a jump start from a man in a white van and continued on thinking how far will a tank of petrol take me? cos' if I stop again I reckon it won't start.
About 10 miles from home the heavens really opened up, visabilty is really down, I'm freezing cold and soaked through, every mile is hurting. 5 miles from home and the petrol light comes on.....phew! gonna make it......and I did, but its now 10.30pm. What a day, I have never (and never want to again!) ridden in weather like that in 28 years of biking.
