crashed it at reading services feb 2010 and totalled it. was red - lots of scavenging on fleabay - all colours of panels and now it's black! (I'd call it stealth matt black carbon fibre if I was a complete knobber) bottom line is changed the leaking tank yesterday and really, REALLY chuffed - new front tyre tomorrow and just in time for MOT...would welcome you're views as to what vinyls I should get....:eatcorn

That looks good. What else have you changed, did you buy it back of insurers or did you not claim it?

I didn't claim it...wasn't particularly handy before the rebuild but now feel like I know the bike inside out. still not sure if I did the right thing by not claiming - but the fact that I'm so pleased with how well I know the bike now means that I probably did the right thing in hindsight.. Fitted new front tyre today and got a 300 mile round trip with work on it tomorrow - can't wait!

I had to completely re-build the front end (all new except the forks which I had straightened..took a chance but so far, so good), new side fairings, original end can had to go back on (akrapovic got wasted...gutted). Front brake was a bit of a problem as there was a tiny split in the reservoir - got a replacement from ebay in Germany: sorted!
