Hey guys, I got the T back yesterday from garage. In for MOT, Service and new tyres. Some tosser has road the bike and their zip has rubbed on my tank pad, there is a tiny scuff on the can, still to much ******* oil in it, and worse or all they, have chipped the paint on the tank removing the tank bolts. What is it with people..I'm so pissed off. Daz..:no

thats **** daz and you had to pay for the privilege ,about a month ago my son took his van in for some work to be done at local garage,he was with his mate and saw it 30 miles away so followed and they were using it to pick up some tyres .so he took the keys off driver and left him there .they said they were getting parts for his service !

kick up **** and tell them you are taing them to trading standards

Thats not a good result Daz as its a one off paint colour. I've a plastic tank on mine which has some scuffs but nothing I can really do about that.

They're obviously a dealer who doesn't know anything about Aprilias putting too much oil in. Thats inexcusable. I liked it when Griff did mine as he was only too pleased to have me looking on whilst he did the service saying that theres nothing to be scared off when taking parts off a bike and I might learn something. I did learn. I learnt I'm not taking anything apart on the bike.

Anyway could see they treated the bike with respect and took good care of it.

On a positive note a tank pad can be replaced

......I did learn. I learnt I'm not taking anything apart on the bike.

Amen to that.

Griff had me checking the valve cearances and all sorts with feely gauges "just to see what it should feel like"

They didn't do that with me mate as my valves didn't have to altered. Straight to the garage it'll go if broken though

I thought it was a good day out and yes I did learn quite a lot, but it's going in next week to have the back shock done.
most of the front had to come off as the bolts holing the cam cover on the front cylinder were chewed up, (previous owner/his garage)
my valve clearances were within tolerance.
I would be a bit pissed off if I were you Daz, I take it you pointed the defects out to them.

it's crap when garages do that, trouble is they've got you by the bollox though, they'll just say it was like that before !! Let us know who they are and how you get on mate !!

Guys, The garage is in the middle of the Lincolnshire country side, called Smiths. I will tell them next time that I'm not pleased. I didnt see the damage until I got home. I could kick up a fuss, but the damage is done and I really like the bloke, he MOT's my bobber and other not so legal bikes. His mechanic has done the damage.. I know you will all thrash me now, for not kicking their ***..Daz :dunno

Just go to decent resprayers and ask them to make a touch up for u. I bumped my car and scratched the bumper on the wifes wheel today. I'll just touch it up and no one will notice. Job done

Bay, yep I could do that, but its not visable, unless you are looking in that area. I am soooo pissed about it though. Oh well, it seems you cant trust most mechanics to really care for ya baby..

Where's the 'shakes head in dismay' smiley when you want it?
Fancy taking an Italian thoroughbred to a backwater garage.:coocoo Next time take the feckin' thing here,

Adam is a good lad.I knew him when he worked for ItaliaMoto.

Good call Keith, not to fat away either. I have known the guy at the garage for years and he really knows his stuff, but as you quite rightly say "you dont take an Italian thoroughbred to a backwater garage". Lesson learnt. fD

All this rings lots of bells.
What about leaning all over the bike in scratchy overalls an putting
Tools on the tank, putting plastics all over the floor and all sorts of things that people do
Just because 'they do it every day'. I could go on. All this stuff is cumulative and when you spend all the time with your
Bike trying NOT to damage it, when someone else does it it's infuriating.

Too true U, a wis topping up ma oil last week wae the bike sittin in ma drive. As we all know it's a bit of a palaver jist gettin the top off the oil tank, anyhoo a carefully placed the removed parts on ma driveway and went indoors for a bit of kitchen roll to wipe up any spillage, as a wis closin the door a gust of wind picked up the C/F air scoop and blew it down the length of ma drive. After lettin oot a few expletives a picked it up, awe ya fecker it wis all scratched tae feck. A know how disappointed a wis wae ma self fir not puttin the parts on the grass. Feck knows whit a wid be like if some numbnut had done it.
