Hi guys.
Finally added an RSV (2002) to my growing collection.
It was a steal with a little damage so I'm currently being screwed by Ebay sellers?
Any suggestions on which can to relace the dustbin and any for sale would be apreciated.
Also what tyres do you guys find best?
I'm 6'4" & 20 st (280lb - fat boy I know) so any suggested starting point for suspension set up would really help.
Thanks & keep safe.

welcome mate another one from se london :doug
change your spring for something heavier i think to start with the standard is 95 you need to be looking at well over 110 for sure:thumbup
tyres i would put corsa 111 's on but that is only my opinion and depends how you ride .

welcome dude, I'l second rs3 milles comments, as fer cans theres heaps of choice, you wount go wrong with akras, arrows, renegades and tigs. do the open airbox mod too.
cheers Ck

most people like the pirelli diablo corsas or the michelin pilot power 2ct, there are plenty of suitable tyres around though, all depends on how you intend to ride!

as for cans akrapovic are held in high regard, arrow is another good choice, if you want to be exotic and noisy go for tigcraft, plenty of good lower price cans around to

as for being screwed by ebay sellers, i know how that one feels, patience seems to work best.. you could pay £90 for it now and tommorow someone else selling one for £50, get a feel for the market on what you are looking to buy so you know what sorta price is good to pay for it.

i would suggest you start off with the stock settings for suspension given in the manual, then tweak it slightly as you ride and decide its too soft or too hard etc, dont do extreme adjustments though!

Congratulations on getting yourself an RSV, you wont regret it :thumbup
and welcome to the forum

Thanks guys.
Owning Italian is a whole new experience. The dealer had to get throttle cables from France! It's easier to get parts for my 1951 Vincent!
Nearly there now so hope the poxy weather changes!

Welcome to the mad house, enjoy the bike and the RSV ZONE :thumbup

Welcome fella, there's a whole forum full of tips on what to do and what not to do on RSV's. Read up and njoy :thumbup

Welcome aboard Cookyi, as people have said already there's a wealth of knowledge on the forum and I should know I've asked for more than my fair share of advice:biggrin. An excelent bunge of lads as well, as for tyres, I used to run 207rr's but there rarer than rocking horse **** now, the best I reckon on the market at the mo for price, feel and longevity are the new Maxxis Supermaxx Sports. I ride two up, a fair bit of motorway mileage and I'm not small at all, they've done 2000 miles and still not squared at all.

Welcome on aboard cookyi :thumbup

I run with michelin 2 cup of teas on mine, and very nice they are too and the mileage is proving good to go :D

Have fun with your new aquisition sir!

welcome dude.
glad theres another decently built young man on here instead o these namby pamby 6 stone 5 foot fairys.lol
good bikes for us big uns, these milles.
one thing i noticed was the suspension on mine was spot on for me,havent altered it one bit for my 21stone and its perfect, the bike hardly moves, unlike my old r1 which sank to the floor under the weight.lol

thats 3 of us then dude, lol
you kept that quiet, lettin me take all the stick on me fookin own b.s!

Welcome to the Vtwin world and the forum mate, some good advise on here mate and some good people too, watch out for Big Un tho mate he's as dodgy as fcuk :thumbup:thumbup:thumbup

Welcome to the madhouse! :thumbup

It's OK for you big buggers, I struggle to touch the ground on mine.

Gotta eat loads of cakes to compress my suspension more or stretch my legs.

Mmmmm! Now where was that cake section in Morrisons. :devious

Just ordered a pair of D208RRs from M&P. Cheap as F??k (just like me!). I got pissed off waiting for Pilot Sports from M&P. The Dunlop Qualifiers are a good price as well.
The RSV just felt so right when I tried one 8 years ago so I don't know why I waited so long.
Us big boys can go quick too!!!!
Track day at Brands soon I hope.
Stay safe guys.
