Couldn't believe what I was hearing while watching the Press Conference from Le Man yesterday afternoon, theres no doubt that he can ride the wheels off anything and I'm sure he would have had a few more titles in him yet but why quit??

Can only think its pressure from home :confused

Its certainly put the cat amonst the pigeons as who's going where next year with everyones contract up for renewal. Who knows whats going to happen.....

Lorenzo to Honda??
Crutchlow to Yamaha to partner Rossi??
Spies back to Tech 3 to partner Smith??
Dovi to Ducati??

Who knows but it certainly gonna liven things up come contract renewal time.

Sad news but I think it shows what a state Moto GP is in, Stoner is a machine and doesn't like the way the series is going, he is there to win but needs a race and small grids and CRT aren't doing it for him. It's a pity that WSB is seen as a step backwards as it is a damn sight better racing!

Love him or loathe him...Stoner has awesome talent, and I for one will miss him, and the entertainment he creates in the MotoGP paddock.
Personally, I respect his decision to pull out while he's ahead....there are not many people who can walk away from a slot-machine they are winning at.

Couldn't agree more with Red Mille " It's a pity that WSB is seen as a step backwards as it is a damn sight better racing! " MotoGP is only publicized as the ' premier ' class because the FIM says so, WSBK has taken over that role a long time ago. The creation of CRT might be too little too late. I look up at the sky and see some dark clouds....
