Hi there, I only moved to Essex last year and now the decent weather's here, I'm ready to burn some rubber and overtake some white Range Rovers!

I was wondering if anybody could recommend any decent roads or routes in Essex?

No decent roads in Essex !!, you need to head into Suffolk/Norfolk for some decent Sunday scratching roads.

Find Finchingfield and head North. In fact East, South and West are all good roads out of finchingfields too!!
Be happy to meet up with you one weekend and show you. I don't get many weekends off though!! I'm near chigwell

I suppose it depends what you're looking for...

I live in Hornchurch and generally play on the same section of roads around Essex.

I'm happy to ride hard for 60-90 mins and then go home, or grab a drink and go home.

Because of the density of population you need to be prepared to go out early though- this time of year you need to be out by 7am, although if you're dedicated get up at first light. Also be prepared to look out for the filth.

They know the roads and we're sitting targets.

From Chigwell I'd head to Abridge, down to Stapleford, up through Ongar, on through Fyfield and out to Dunmow- turn back on yourself and head back towards Sawbridgeworth and then divert to Chelmsford....

..once you get towards Chelmsford and the twisties run out literally u-turn and ride the same road back but carry on toward Hatfield Heath, then into Harlow, off to Epping, through Theydon Bois and back to Chigwell!

I'd be game for a wobble out with you one Sunday morning

Where abouts in Essex you based mate?

I'm based just outside of Epping.

Cheers for the recommendations so far guys. I know Abridge very well, but always tend to be very busy and around the A414, so may consider getting up a lot earlier.

Definately up for some ride-outs if you're local?

I'll come out for a wobble most Sunday mornings if the weather is kind. I tend to be out no longer than 90 mins though and I know for a lot of people that's a little short...

I'm riding at Brands on Thursday but assuming I don't fall off or break anything I'll probably be around this Sunday.

Hi Jon, I'm not around this Sunday but can be around for most others. Will contact you soon. 90 mins sounds good to me in this heat!
