just bought a set of gilles rearsets off ebay and will have plenty of time to fit them before spring! lol but just wandering how hard/easy they are to fit? heard mixed views on this......:dunno any help or advice would be much appreciated:thumbup cheers guys

if they aethe type that relocate the M/C then it's a bit fiddly moving the M/C lines etc but nothing horrendous.

If it's the non relocating type then easy peasy.

Hi, fitted a set to my bike on Friday.

They are pretty simple, but require some fiddling to get the brake side set up. The gear side is very simple bolt off/bolt on.

The brake light switch on mine was practically welded on to the old brake pedal - in the end I had to pop round to Griff's to get it out. Then we needed to shim out the sensor trigger on the Gilles with some washers as it wasn't contacting the switch.

You will need to take the m/c apart and in doing so will lose hydraulic pressure, but you'll have to cut the reservoir pipe down to fit anyway. Once it is all assembled you'll only need a quick bleed and then you'll be locking the back up at 50mph!

Just make sure you have some threadlock and penetrating oil/wd40 to soak the brake switch...

these are the rearsets, pretty sure they have the m/c relocater, thats one of the main reasons i bought them! they arent fully assembled as i dont think theyve ever been on a bike

Yes mate, those are the right ones. The m/c bolts through the plate above the peg and you can see the top of the brake switch bracket behind the footpeg carrier.

Do you have the instructions?

John

i hope so m8! lol i messaged the guy before i bid on them but he didnt get back to me, the auction said "still in box" and the pics showed everything still in bubble wrap so i can only asume the instructions are there 2...... if not can you download a pdf or something?
