Gianelli Twin Exhausts 98 - 03 RSV

I need your help guys!

Just bought a Gianelli twin exhaust high mount system for my RSV and it doesn't look right to me:

Anyone who has the Gianelli twin exhaust system fitted, can I ask you to post up some piccies to the rear cans? (A shot from the rear of the bike head on at rear light level and then one from either side)

Mine appear to sit a little higher than I have seen on other RSV's and just want to check that I haven't cocked up the fitting.

Lastly, mine have 'not for road use' stamped on the silencer end can rings, does anyone know the best way to get rid of this or where to get hold of some blank ones?

Yep

You have surely got the wrong set up for you machine, only thing to remedy is to post that system to me and I will make it fit mine :devious

to get rid of not for road use ,use a dremmel!!!,or buy new bands and rivets but that takes time.

Cheers for the replies and piccies guys, gonna try and polish out the 'Not for road use' crap and if that fails then it's new bands.

Gonna spend a few hours down the shed tonight getting them sitting straight.

They sound fooking awesome. :doug

OK, so I've fettled them around for an hour or so and have them sitting pretty much as best as they can I suppose.

Just need to get some nice polished stainless socket head bolts for the carbon fibre guard and that's a job done.

You know those little soap impregnated wire dishwashing pan scrubber thingies?. They are excellent at getting rid of "Not For Road Use" stamps on end cans. :thumbup

I know exactly what you mean and now have something to keep me busy for a wee while tomorrow afternoon after a blast. :doug

You ever get them bolts for the carbon guard (Ive lost a couple)? What thread/length were they? Did you get the road use bit polished out? I got an MOT Friday so gotta change the whole bloody lot for the dustbin.....:angry

Yeah, got those bolts - you need 4 M6x10mm either socket head or button head stainless bolts. Two are shorter that the others and you are best to just buy the four bolts at 10mm long and cut 4mm off two of them.

Not finished the 'Not for road use' stamp yet, got bored and ordered some BS plates to go over the 'Not for road use' but not happy with the way they look so it looks like the Dremel's coming back out. :devious

Hey where are the rear sets I'm sure they dont look like that:dunno

This piccie was taken pre Griffs rearsets. :eatcorn

Just been out today fettling the rearsets, have put them as high as they can go and as far back. This allows me to lock my upper legs under the tank bulges and makes for much better control when riding.

Managed to get the gear lever spot on after only making adjustments twice and the back brake lever is now perfect and works like it should. :doug

Hey, Just found this thread while I was looking for some tips on fitting these badboys as mine should be getting here at the weekend:doug

How long do they take to fit? Do you need to drill holes in the undertray to fit the bracket? And are they obnoxiously loud? not that it'll stop me:devious

And out of curiousity do you know if the link pipes are titanium.

They take no time at all to fit...doddle.....holes are already there......102db tested at Cadwell.....link pipes not Titanium....:thumbup
