For info, my son & his mate may be tagging along as well, but they are not the most reliable of attendees.

On route, you had best phone ahead to the chippy, they will be stripped to the wait peeling taties for us all.

Just seen the other post, with a meeting in Keswick over the week end.

Is it worth considering a meet-up with them instead of / or as part of the proposed route.

I would imagine a full day keeping everyone happy would be a nightmare. Would be good to see up to 30 Tuonos en-route, even for a part of the day / cup of tea etc.

Just a thought, anyone got an opinion, I will go with the flow, etc.

I think its a chance not to be missed - 10:30 at Hartside is achievable.

The Rinkly Regulars are always trying to get a decent turn out.

So, as the old saying goes, something about mountains & Mohamed (no offence intended)

Agree. Before we knew it was Hartside it would have been a none starter, now I reckon a meet up is a must.
 
I am free to meet up anytime if its a goer.

Brooksy, name the time & place.

We need to set off at 9:00 am to get there for 10:30 so is it possible to all meet up at one place & go ?

What about the car park - Dalton Retail world - Murton at 8:50 ish ?

Just need to keep an eye out for the boys in blue. They will be expecting a good turn out at Hartside & will be looking for easy targets.
 
I can't get to Dalton for 9, have to take the mrs to work for 8:30, so 9 is the soonest I can leave my hoose. Will need juice, so if you like can see you in Stanhope? Hartside is about 30/35 mins from there, I think?
 
meet at 09:15 chester le street then head up over consett and down into stanhope
i reckon non stop we can be at hartside for 10;30ish tbh i think they will be hard pushed to get to hartside for 10:30
if we want to head from there on our own i suggest :
across to brampton - up the a7 to hawick - carter bar - kielder - corbridge = a68 back to chester
can anyone attending please confirm so we are not hanging around waiting for someone who aint coming
 
9:15 should be ok. Would it be quicker to go via Lanchester, Wolsongham Stanhope?

same distance but may be faster roads as long as plods not about (47.2 miles) i will have to get to chester early and have a couple of smokes lol

I will be topping up at the local garage, where we normally see each other before hand.

meet at littlethorpe 08:40, going to fill up at fencehouses on the way through
 
yes an excellent day in excellent company with good roads and good weather, was good to meet all the guys who were out today. will post some pics later.
