hi, i need a list off good practical mods for my bike, nothing too drastic as i want to keep her lookin standard, things like the bat up grade that sort of thing, anything that help reliability, maybe performance, are iridium spark plugs worth it, upgraded air filters, you guys know the tricks, look forward to your ideas:thumb

If you're upgrading the battery, the solenoid would be a good upgrade, i think a 150amp version (Yamaha make a cheap one) £25 plus postage

maybe some crash protectors? there is a nice open air-box mod, not seen from the outside but should improve performance a little, even more with a mod chip or power commander 3

How about some Samco hoses and a waterless coolant? (£150 ish) they also come in black if you want the standard look..

Led indicators? saves a little battery and will last the life of the bike. Led Rear and brake lights ?

Not sure about you're can(s) my 99 Stock can is 3 times the weight of my Akra can.

Alarm with microwave detection, will let you know before your bike gets touched from up to a 4 feet away (adjustable) can also add on "little snitch" a text alert system.

Clutch Jet?, yours may not need it but thought best to bring it up for you to look into.. also Master & Slave hydraulics : there is a whole world of mods there including braided lines etc.

GSX side stand, or something better than the not so wind proof original.

I hope some if this may help.. Samco hoses would be a really nice, safe mod - they keep the whole system much cleaner as rubber dissolves in our cooling systems...

edit: sorry Busman, i see you already know about the solenoid upgrade.

if your new to RSV's worth a read up about your sprag clutch, you can destroy one trying to start incorrectly like i did 2 weeks from ownership..

Lucky i found Griff in Tamworth who did a great job collecting and delivery back to me in no time at all.

sprag clutch :dunno? how do you damage your clutch starting your bike, make sure its not in gear, pull in clutch, press button, job done, you got me worried now, i will need to read up on this as you say, thanks for the heads up mate :thumbup

Busman

Think the sprag nightmare only applies to the Gen 1`s ?

Have had two of the Gen 2 Tuonos and never had no bother with them so you should be fine with your rsvr , same machine am sm pretty sure .

Somebody who knows more alot than me will be right along either confirm this or put the ***** right up you ?

Sprag clutch gets damaged when trying to start the bike with a weak battery i think...

Iridium plugs arent worth it they just last longer but at 4times the price i am just sticking to the standards. If you do get iridium plugs you need to make sure to widen the gap a touch..sure you will find a threaf about it!

thanks for the feed back, i will bear it in mind, first job battery up grade and yam 150 solenoid me thinks.
