Gen 2 ECU Map

HI,

Two quick questions 1) anyone here from Ireland / Northern Ireland know who to go to to change ECU to map 2 for slip-ons? I know there's dyno places etc but they're looking for silly money. I've also contacted the 3 Aprilia dealers listed on the Aprilia main site and they either don't know if they can do it...I know! or aren't open yet to do it so just want to see what other options there are

and 2) I've an opportunity to grab an decent second hand pair of pipes, will riding with slips-ons on map 1 cause any problems in the short term? If I buy them I'll want to put them on straight away!

Any Ape dealer should be able to do that for you.
iirc they charge around £30 for a map change.

You’d think that wouldn’t you, but we’ve only one Aprilia dealer in Southern Ireland. I’ve spoken with them a good few times and not only can they not do it as they haven’t got the software they’ve also told me that it’s not as simple as changing over to map 2 and that a full dyno would be needed at €450. Really makes me wonder.

Had mine done by the dealer who did it's sevice.... didn't charge me anything extra to do it.
Switching to map 2 is a straight forward job with the right kit.... you do not "need" a dyno. Maybe balance the TB's / set O2 but no dyno !
