Gearing..

Was just thinking about mods... and obvioulsy loosing a tooth (not me) is a very cheap and effective one, I do enjoy having legs on my bike on the open road (not that I ever go past 70 :p) but how much does it effect your top end? as I go riding with a r1, blade and a gixer 750...

gearing

ask yourself this, How fast (top speed) do you really use on these roads. lowering thr amount of teeth on the front by one, and increasing 2 on the rear will affect top speed but still do 150. The punch you get for doing this is not only noticable but much better on country/twisty road and you will find you may need to change gear earlier but the benifit in my opinion is better. I ride with a 10 fireblade, zx9r, and have no problem keeping up untill top speed. Which I dont do :). fuel consumption will drop, ware and tear will increase but not by much. I run 15 x 46 and have a powercommander2 dynoed at 122.5 at rear, work carried out by H M Racing Edenbridge, kent.
Hope this helps

thanx mate it does, ive got a slight bit of cash coming through from a ***** running into the side of my old car and causing injuriy to myself etc so now ive got the mille I want to buy a couple things but not use all the cash so effective mods are the answer, the bike is bog standard at the mo, even down to the can, so considering a power commander, decent filter and end can (would love a full system but needs must) and maybe a full service and gearing changed...living in cornwall we have plenty of twistys so it might be the answer...and lets face it, any ***** can gun it down a straight road.

I run one tooth smaller on front and one tooth bigger on back, suits me fine , not a top speed merchant i prefer corners, i didnt want to go down 2 on the frontas it might have been a bit to touchy on the throttle and its a smaller circumference for the chain to go round so this may [in my opinion ] put excess load on any bearings in the beer gox.

hello mate, thats a very intereting read... do'u have pics of ur belly pan? just wanna see how its cut for the header to fit...

ok 3 questions-
Do You still make these?
Am i right in saying Yours fits straight on without any Fairing or other mods?
Honestly, is it worth fitting it to a Mille without a PC3? Or do You need to remap the Bike to get the gains?

Hi, yes i still sell these price is £130 exchange, fit straight in ,no cutting of the bellypan, its still a single sided system with 2 extra pipes welded in to mimic the flow of a dual system.

honestly yes ... you will get gains but cut the wire on the ecu to bring in the different map at the very least ... a gabro or drrossi chip is a good mod or an aprilia titanium chip as these are cheaper if you can find one.

a decent airbox is a good mod with the above..hooked/renegade/sebimoto open style or an evo sealed type

with the above and a decent can the bike will feel completely different.

pc3 isnt neccasary but will get the best from your set up if you went down the custom map route

lol just when I thought i had it all sorted to what I was gunna buy you throw all that into the mix.. :)
