Gearing

Hi,

What gearing are most of you guys using for the road on your RSV4 Factory? I am currently on 42/17 but feel that 1st gear is way too tall so am thinking going to a 16/42.

What are your thoughts?:thumbup

That is about the cheapest best mod around, really improves things for road and track.

if you alter the gearing does this throw out the speedo?

Speedo reading is taken from wheel speed not taken from the gearbox so doesn't change with gearing

Just noticed I put that I am running 17/42, I have changed rear to 42 from standard 40, but I presumed that the front was 17, it seems that it is 16?? So I will be going down to a 15T sprocket.
