Hi.

Am getting a new exhaust, Hopefully Tuesday when it gets delivered and unleash the sound of the V-Twin.

I know the exhaust might make a few bhp diffrent from the massive exhaust thats on now, But i want alittle more grunt.

I see people get a diffrent front sprocket but i need to know a few thinsg first.

1) Does it make it snatchy at low revs as its lower geared.

2) How much does the speedo read over?.

Thanks
Luke

No, it makes it great.

Speed is taken from the rear disc bolts, so changing the sprockets doesnt effect the reading.

Arhhh right cool. I was thinking what the black thing was near the rear brake.

What size should i get then, 16T?.

And where is the cheapest place to buy.

Thanks

My mates just got a 16t sprocket from a dealer (Rocket Centre @ Blackburn) He paid £20

16 or 15 - be the opposite, less snatchy at low revs. Should be able to get one cheap off Fleabay.

Won't 15/43 give you a longer wheelbase as opposed to 16/44 that I've seen recommended elsewhere on Aprilia sites?

Just checked. And its running 17-42. Stock Aprilia 17T, And a gold Talon 42.

Would 16-42 be good?, Am i right in thinking 15-42 would be to far, Making it scream to much, And be snatchy at low RPM's.

Standard for that year is 17/42, most go 16/44 (mine is that..tons better:devious) but 15/42 gives same result apparently :thumbup

i went from a 17T to a 16T... much much much better around town... i actually get to keep it in 2nd gear from 15+mph... so im keeping the rear sprocket standard for now !! :thumbup

Well i bought a 16T front today. TBH doesnt feel that diffrent, The front comes up easyer now in 2nd when gunning it. And seems to go thought the revs abit quicker. Will see what it like on a longer run on the weekend. Then i might try a 15T.

Has anyone gone 15/44?

I am putting 16-44 on mine in the next week or 2, now 15-44 sounds like it would be over the top???

4th gear power wheelies like a ZX10r though :devious

Would rev a bit high when pottering around though??

What we should do it swap the gearing of a WR450F, top speed of 90 miles an hour, BUT the bragging rights at the ol pub about pulling her up in 6th gear without the clutch is pretty cool.................:pirate
