G'Day mates.

Another hot Aussie Christmas dispatched thank god. Time to go for a ride,
I Just found the forum the other day while trying to diagnose a start issue with the new (to me) 03 RSV.

The recommended Yamaha solenoid and new battery and, all solved. Thanks.

My last bike was a Honda (insert pathetic face icon). But now the Italian odyssey begins. A very big learning curve to be had just learning to ride Milie over the old 4 but what a blast. More grunt than a randy rhino. Feels like being pushed by the hand of god.

Thanks for a great forum..
Ed

PS: can anyone recommend any easy mods for a newbie its bog stock at the moment. Barring a micron slip on pipe.

Morning from the top of the world ;)

Check that the ecu wire is cut from the ecu - more response...
Do a search on forum...

If you do not want to invest on PCIII contact Dr. Rossi for a better eprom to your ecu - I can recommend this one.

Change gearing - decrease the theoretical max speed you do not need it anyway. I have on mine -1 on front +1 in rear goes with standard length chain and changes the character of the bike nicelly...

Indeed no riding up here -5 C Wind 15m/s and snow ;)

Have you a single exhaust? You will want to sort out the power/torque dip between 4500 and 5500 revs that the single exhaust gives you. (Look at the single exhaust Dyno results .....use the search function).

You need a 2 into 2 exhaust or a modified header.

Quite expensive but a Power commander with custom tune will be good to aid any decent chip. :)

G'day edg, welcome to the zone- oh and thanks a lot for mentioning the heat over there- frrreezing here- salt into the wound fella!! :biggrin

Welcome to the Forum matey, I was in Chatsworth in June, seems like a nice place. Where in Sydney you at ?

Welcome friend!

Oodles of good info here. All i have done to mine is a drop of one tooth on the front sprocket, making it a 15. Much better, no riding the clutch in parking lots!

Merry Christmas & welcome to the 'Zone from Canada, where it is -13c.

G'day again all

Thanks for the early Mod/Tuning advice.

I felt mildly guilty for a minute knowing everyone else is snowed up except me.. But don't panic I out on my Shoei my guilt passed.:thumbup

It is around 23C at the moment and overcast/cloudy does that count???
The sun will be out tomorrow though. The only issue here in and around Sydney at the moment is officer Plod... They are hot on anything bike around this time of year.

Well Y'all seem like a friendly bunch Hope things thaw for you all soon.

I'm off to find the Cut wire to Eprom post?

Cheers.

PS: Eeza, I'm In Homebush Bay in the centre of Sydney near Olympic Park, and Chatsworth? Did you mean Chatswood?

So its warmed up then , I remember sitting 'round at the base station at Sunshine in March waiting for the temperature to rise to a balmy -30c ( from -36c) so they could get the lifts working .

Having left Melbourne early feb at 46c it wasn't too noticable

I feel sorry for you blokes up north. We are lucky enough to ride all year round with winter temps only being around 10 - 15 C at worst around Sydney.

edg, I an down in Wollongong and have an 01 RSV and have done some things to my bike. So if you are after any help let me know. I also ride the Royal National Park from Sutherland to Stanwell Tops often if you are keen for a ride.
