Gabro race map unleashed

Hi all,

While I was sunning myself in Tenerife my V4 ecu was in the hands of a magician called Gabro in Italy for his race map upgrade.

I had a standard ecu and Gabro loaded his own updated version of the latest race map.

Now having had the last two days to give it a thorough "testing" my initial thoughts are below.

HOLY BUGGERY FCUK!!!!!!!!!, Gabro has transformed a bonkers bike into a fire breathing monster

But yet it is silky smooth. I only tested it in T mode. The throttle response is much much better than it was. The transition from closed or part throttle to open is no longer like an on / off switch. It has made it much easier to roll the throttle on mid corner without the abrupt response that was there before.

The power delivery is smooth and relentless. It now pulls hard from lower down the rev range and just pulls and pulls.
I notice a huge difference as I came from a stock 2012 map.

Happy?

Just a little bit

And wot was the cost of all this electronic lovelyness as this sounds like something i might like to do ???
Ta in advance ..

330 Euro including return shipping.

That is for a stock ecu without a race map already installed (like mine was) so around £260 all in.

You will need to do the handle learning and throttle calibration procedure when you get it back.

You don't need to go to the stealers for this as there is a cracking piece of free software available. so all you need is the leads to connect to your bike. these are also cheap.

I have the Akra exhaust and so should be able to get mine unlocked and updated, Iv emailed the dealer to see what he says.

My dealer got back to me and I cant have the unlock for the ECU as I didnt get the full system with the bike just the end can. grrrr.

He can do me an race ECU for about £350 however, and I assume that he also does the handle learning and throttle calibration as well.

Or, do I just send my one to Italy and do it myself, what software is used for this?

Send your ECU to Italy then once it returns get your dealer to do the learning procedure. Thats my opinion.

Who knows you will have to ask, probably not, but Gabros race ECU is better and cheaper than that, buy a Guzzidiag cable and do the throttle learning yourself.

No idea what he uses but he has been doing Eprom chips for the earlier Tuonos for years, he is well respected and a master of electrickery!

Make sure you tell him Dan sent you :thumbup

Dan the man :thumbup

Best recommendation that I have ever had that's for sure.

I was out at the weekend for another couple of hundred miles on my own through some amazing roads in Scotlandshire and I just love this bike more and more everytime I ride it.

The power delivery if fcuking bonkers :lol
