Just in case it happens to you . . . my 07 Mille, 'bout a year ago, dash display flickered and died - no indicators either. One of the two 30A main fuses had failed - not melted in a 'pop', but looked as though it had been nibbled away. Replaced fuse, switched on - everything fine - left scratching my head since a visual check of wiring etc found nothing.
Fast forward to yesterday. Routine service, including changing engine coolant. Run it up to temperature and notice that the left fan isn't working - because - it's seized and has melted plastic around the motor armature. That's why the fuse had failed . . . For those that might not know - the slower an electric (DC) motor runs, the more current it draws.
