Hi all, I'm now a proud owner of a 2009 tuono. Just want to know is it ok to run fully sinth in these bikes without detriment to the clutch etc. Oh and just one more thing! is the clutch a slipper clutch?

Thanks.

Modern fully synthetics are fine with the clutch,
Its sort of a slipper clutch but not like a ramp and ball type more a back limiting clutch

Whats the difference

Hi Zuki

whats the difference between a slipper clutch and the back limiting one you mentioned, do they work the same way? i assume a slipper kicks in if i down shift into the wrong gear to stop the back wheel bouncing. am i on the right lines here or have i got it totally wrong.

cheers

a slipper clutch ball and ramp type when the rear wheel is going faster than the engine disengages drive until the two are at the same speed.
the one on the tuono uses vaccum to determine the engine speed and slightly engages the clutch until the wheels are at the same speed.
if you blip the throttle on the T on a down change you cancel this out so the "slipper part" doesn't work
