well after reading a post on here awhile ago about how many mile you get on a tank I thought I would ask the question

WHY IS MY BIKE ONLY DOING 90miles UNTIL LIGHT COMES ON!:dowhat

my old 99 mille did 130-140 then the light comes on. to fill up it took about 16litres

this think does 90 and the lights on and I fill up and get only 13 litres in it. I guess its a smaller tank but still, most of my riding is at a steady speed down duel carridgeways

When I had this problem on my carb bikes I would clean and balance the carbs and it would be better, what can I do on this mille?:thumbup

:biggrin hey its me again.my yellow 02 light comes at 120 and I can get 145 miles out of it . have you tried new plugs and what gearing do you have and it might sound silly but the vales adjusted although I dought they need it. these things are very good about that. d:thumbup

hey donnie, not sure on the gearing as I havent checked, only had it three weeks :biggrin

Stripping down tomorrow to do the my front bearing and rear tyre for the mot so will have good look at the sprockets and plugs then.

If all checks out and it passes the mot then I will more than likely try and find out when Griff is down my area and get him to give it a once over.

Does your light come on then go off then stay on or does it just come on?

:biggrin The light comes on then off and when you have the light on steady you have about 10 to 15 miles get gas you should get 145 150 miles out her with regular ridding. even when i take her in the canyon I get 135 miles out of .donnie griffs the man wish I lived by you guys but california is a way away.d

I only get 90 out of mine then light comes on how hard do you ride it and think they have a smaller tank after 2000 mod

Check your airfilter aint clogged , is it chipped or fitted with a power commander ?

You may just need the T/B's balanced (See Griff)

18 litre tank garvey, you should get 110 to 120 until fuel light comes on under normal riding conditions. Throttle body sync i suggest

i've only been getting 60 miles out of mine before the light comes on...
got new air filter plugs oil change with filter.
does tend to smell of fuel as well when its ticking over, i had to take the yoshi can off and put the standard one back on as most of the time it wouldn't start just flood the engine.

got to find out when Griff is down my end then.
checked today and its standard can, standard sprockets, no Power commander, didnt check the chip and I ride average, no diferent than I did on my old 99 one. plus the plugs looked good and so did the filter :)

how much im I looking at for the tb sync?

i'm having the exact same problem with my 99 mille. i have a standard can and put a k and n air filter on because the previous owner had no filter at all! i'm guessing to lean the mix off for my benefit. tosser. is the most likely cause tb's or wrong chip? i am new to rsv's and 25 miles for £10 fuel is a bit of a ball ache.

ive a 2002 model (smaller tank) with race can, titanium chip, hooked airbox and yesterday i got 145miles until fuel light with mainly 80-90mph motorway and country lanes including as much hard acceleration where possible. ive got 20miles on reserve before and believe that if i take it easy 30miles is attainable, therefore 170miles to a tank should be possible if its mainly 80mph motorway.

I've had both the newer RSVR and now an '03 Mille (both with changed sprockets) and to be honest I've only ever managed 110miles out of a tank and I was sweating a bit at the end.....BUT I do like to twist the throttle & it is a load of fun..so I've just got used to it as a necessary Aprilia evil!

i spoke to my local aprilia dealer and he said they are juicy and i should be happy with 80-100 mile per tank. he then quoted £100 to balance tb's and £300 to check valve clearances as my 9000 mile service is due in 200miles. this seemed a bit excessive as he didn't fill me with confidence he knew what the problem was just waffled on about drilling some screw/connector things out that always sieze.

I get about 90 - 100 miles then the light comes on and I've managed 25 miles with the light on.

That was a mix of 'A' & 'B' roads and I'm a moderate rider.

Can usually get around £13 - £14 in it once the lamp comes on.
