Went oot for a hurl with a mate yesterday, he was leading on his XJR 1300. After 95 miles the fuel light hadnae come oan. In a panic pulled in and filled up thinking the electric gremlins had got to the T, only to find it took 9 litres to fill it up. Nearly 50mpg just shows what you can get oot of these bikes if you follow a slow rider:lol

WOW! thats amazing, how fast were you going/accelerating etc. Best I've ever done is about 110 before light, and that was taking it easy as the Mrs was on the back

We were going 75-80 Grin, but it was gentle accelerating. got bored a one point and pissed off but had to slow down so he could catch up:thumbup

Felt like it R min, meant to be going oot next weekend with my mate and his busa. I think the fuel light will come oan after 80 miles

well i thought i was riding like a F**king woos on Saturday when i got 104 miles before the light came on, i normally only get between 80 and 90

Took me T oot on sat for a gentle run to scrub in me new sportsmarts..... 79miles to the light... I guess the new hoops are very good from the off and they are well and truly scrubbed in now :)

Went for a blast around mid Wales on Sunday, but took it easy on way home - 132 miles before light came on!

ah pit a new set o SportSmarts oan just afore FudFest III shenanigans an they were jist fine an dandy...rate them well ah dae

I think part of it is how you fill the tank. If I leave it on the side stand I cant brim it, sitting on the bike gets another 1/2 litre in.

grin whit der yer think happens when after filling up yer then get off and put the bike on it's stand.???

On a bimble over the dales last friday, it was 115.5m till it came on...... wus thinkin it must a broke as its normally 90-95 before it lights up my life !
:)

on my first long ride which was a charity memorial run with up to 1000 bikes the run was almost 140 miles and the light came on 1/2 mile from the end and i was carrying a pillion...

Was a bit unsure at first as they are so different to my rennsports but I'm liking them the more I use em and I hope to get more than the 1500miles I was getting from the rennsports! :)

m, that must be some kind of record 130+ tae the light came on. :eek

grin ma point is after you've filled it up do yer jist drive off and not pay or der yer pay for the fuel first, if it's the latter then fine if not then it still needs to go onto the stand so any extra that you've managed to get in by sitting on the bike will now overflow and out onto the deck through the breather.

A while back I noticed the rear part of the sticker on the belly pan was starting to wrinkle and come off, that's when I noticed that some excess fuel was coming out after I'd sat on the bike to fill it then put it on the stand.

Whit am sayin is a don't think yer going to gain much by sitting on it to fill it then tilting back over.

Gotcha Aldo. The petrol station is a card in then draw fuel, so I can buga off once full.
I take your point about the breather and your stickers, so may not fill it that way again if the petrol pulls them off - cheers bud.
