Hi, new on here. got a rsv showa front end going on another bike.
i need some help with getting the spacing right on the axle etc.
can anyone talk me through it please?
does the spindle sit flush with the fork leg, or sit in abit?

thanks,
joe

It should sit flush. And dont make the mistake of searching for a spacers that according the shop manual should be there (but in reality isn't)

hhmmm, how does that work then?
i cant get my head around it.
if i push the axle all the way in the righ hand side, untill its flush. then spacer on left side of wheel (looking at the front of the bike, not as riding it), there is a gap.

if i tighten the axle, it will just pinch the forks.
any more help?

cheers,
joe

Looking from the front. Push the spindle in from the right, it will travel through the wheel and the spacer that sits on the left side, then through the fork leg. The nut and washer go on and they then pull the right side of the spindle against the wheel and spacer then left fork leg. This locks the wheel and left fork leg in place and the clamps then hold the whole assembly together.
