hi all,
i have decided to buy one of the cheap tripple tree front stand as i have to service my forks. the problem is that if i lift the bike on the stand it always falls of on its own as the stand slides on the floor
any idea how to fix this? i was thinking about some bolts to the floor but this wont help me much if i am on the track paddock...
maybe some recomendation for a working stand like this for mille? maybe this one is too short?
checkout the video of the problem

Have you tried it on a different surface
.

Does the stand need modding ,somehow bend or cut and weld so that the pivot poit if further forward so the weight doesn't want to pull the stand down?

Have you trimmed the small plastic panel that goes between the rads and covers the front pipe ,sure someone posted that this needed a small amount removing to allow the stan to fully engage in the correct position

well i do not have a different surface. i need to sort it out on this surface which is a normal painted concrete in the garage.
i was hoping you will find something obviously wrong about the stand on the video.
i noticed that i also need to put a really big effort to raise the nose up when putting the stand in place. normally this should be easy even for a woman and i am sure shw wont be able to lift it.
any idea what to mod? does it have to be higher or reach further under the yoke?

the plastic covers are all removed

obviously this guy is using the same stand on his tuono and on much more slippery surface... http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?171741-Triple-clamp-front-stand-pin-diameter

so the problem seems to be the pin diameter. as i have showa forks the tripple tree has a wide hole so the pin is lose. need to figure out a new pin which is wider.

Hi not sure if you have fixed this yet but you need a 27mm pin for the stand, search for paddock stand pin and you will find them
