So the wife said she would buy me one for Christmas what is any one using and can recommend it's for a 2000

ive got a micron front stand had it a few years now its pretty decent but have got an abba stand as well which is good but you just need something to jack the front end up with but gives much easier clearance for working on the front end

I have both the "under fork bottom" type (Harris) and "under head-stock" (Motogp) type. If you're going for your first front stand then I'd go for the under head-stock type as they allow more access to the wheel as well as allowing the forks to be completely removed. The Motogp (google it) one I have is not the cheapest but it is good quality. It also hinges (like the Harris one in Deacs picture) which makes using and storing it easy.
The only thing to bear in mind though is that the Mille (Showa anyway) head-stock "hole" is 27mm. Typically the head-stock stands come with a selection of pins/spigots, but only 13mm to 18mm. So, you will have to make sure the brand you buy also sells seperate pins - unless the right size comes supplied!
Regarding the "under fork bottom". The Harris one I have is nice quality, works well and looks the part. But, it is expensive compared with other brands and I doubt any better....but looks the part in the pit garage!

just wondering also if anyone can recommend a good under yoke stand, that also allows you to tale the wheel spindle out easily? mine is a cheapo one and fouls both the light and gets in the way of the axle....
