Right, talk to me, been out with TuonoTone today and took his Factory out for a blast (so much more planted) but my R version just gives no feedback or feel from the front end, just have no confidence in it and feels like its ready to wash out at any moment. :no

Have had 3 or 4 front end slides now and one rear prior to ohlins unit and not looking forward to Cadders on Sunday at this rate as feel im going to lowside.

Have had Colin at 100% sort suspension but since changed to Ohlins rear and not touched the front, problem is he aint there Sunday only Monday.

The ohlins has a 100nm rear spring (im 15 stone with gear) and set it up as per manual.

Have 3 rings showing through yokes (going to revert back to zero)

Just changed from Angels to my favoured racetecs still not getting the feel.

I have only ever owned naked bikes so I dont think its cos im riding it wrong.

Anyone help/advice?

I reckon its just a T thing meself. Both mine, Showa and Ohlins felt/feel a little light on the front end. On track days I try and get meself as far over the tank as I can on corners. Fookin ard wi my gut a tell thi.

Well after a quick google, seems im not the only one.

Having just changed from a 180 55 to a 190 55 it may have added some height to the rear, the Ohlins rear shock has quite a few threads showing, not sure how much thread should be shown below the blue bolt. First point of call is raising the forks again to try and stabalise it. But without spending big bucks on an ohlins front think im going to struggle with this one.

Dan, I think adding the ohlins also jacks up the rear so lifting the front might be a good starting point

Colin also set mine up which is Showa at front and ohlins at rear (except I have 180 rear and the front standard [no dropping through the yolks]). Although I'm a few stone lighter than you it should be of some use. Do a post for my settings, I posted them up not long ago.

Let us know how you get on

I reckon you should let Colin take another look now you've changed to the Ohlins rear, and get him to set the whole thing up again. Did you have the front springs and fork oil changed before, or just get the front end adjusted?

Having little or no confidence in the front end is a horrible feeling, my advice is to take things easy until you learn how the front reacts or until you get it sorted for you. It ain't worth throwing it down the road chasing a second or two on a lap time, especially when there ain't no prize...!

Its on 6.5k miles now, 5 when I bought it so have done about 1500 miles on it now, got the OEM front and rear set up by him hoping it would feel better, nope, buy and ohlins rear, better but nope still not feeling it, buy some rubber im confident with, nope just does not turn in like I want it to or give feedback throughout a corner until the front steps.

Will get Colin to have a gander but he is not there till Monday and im there all day Sunday, so will try not to bin it before he gets a chance to peruse it.

Thing is I dont want to get the front suspenders revalved etc too much cash for a bike im not planning on keeping longer than this year.

Bud it sounds like ur Ohlins shock has lifted the back a bit, especially if there is a fair few threads showing under the blue nut on the bottom. My RSVR was like this when I got it, kept feeling like it was gonna tuck in slow corners.

Why not try lowering the back before you raise the front, will level the bike off but keep ur center of gravity lower. Its an easy job with the Ohlins, can be done on the bike. Just undo the locknut next to the blue nut, then wind the blue nut down. You will see that the rod going into the shock cylinder tunrs with the nut. A little goes a long way here so maybe try 6 flats (one whole turn) then have a little test run. Doing it this way sorted mine right out.

Good luck

Will defo be returning everything to stock.

Think its a 24mm for the rear ohlins, does anyone know how many lines should be showing at the bottom of the thread??

Cheers chaps
