Hello!
I've sold the rsv now but I did the front tensioner
Before I sold it.
Few mechanics told me that I need to remove the engine...
As there is a water manifold with 3 pipes on between making
The access nearly impossible.
Being an aircraft mechanic and used to work inside tight spaces I decided to have a go.
Don't buy the original clamps to replace on the pipes as u can't get them fitted after as there is no
Space. Instead use normal water hose clamps.
The original ones u will have to cut them out.
U have to squash the rubber pipes to get them out of
The way so you can get to the tensioner.
Then with a long Allen key undo the tensioner cap plug
And remove the tensioner. Well, fish the tensioner out with a wire. There's no way
U can fit your hand there. I didn't lock the engine or anything. Just toke the tensioner
Out and put the new one in. Tighten the plug as I could and reconnected the hoses
With new clamps/clips. Make sure u check ur coolant as u will loose some.
Run the beast and check for oil leaks.
Why u want to change it ?
Avoid this at all cost !!! Is a really horrible job. And none to help !!! I was all on my own
Good luck !
